The Sketchbook heads back south

Sandra from Teneriffe in southern Queensland has added her gorgeous image of three eggplants / aubergines  to the sketchbook and has just sent it south to return to Victoria and to me. So excited.

Sandra Red Specs Aubergines

True to Sandra’s blog Please Pass the Recipe she has also passed on a recipe for ratatouille with some spicy ingredients – yum! It’s such a good warm suggestion for us down here as the nights get colder. For more of the same you can read a little bit here

You can also follow the journey of the sketchbook & the contributions so far on the Sister of the Travelling Sketchbook magical map! (the little palette icons show the journey so far)

Sandra lives in a beautiful part of Brisbane, although I’ve sadly never been to this area. Teneriffe (not to be confused with Tenerife in the Canary islands) was home to part of Queensland’s wool boom in the early 20th century and there are lots of beautiful wool stores now converted to apartments along the river. The pictures describe a fascinating place to explore one day.

  1. Thanks for the kind words Megan. I live in a converted Teneriffe Woolstore, there are several such building along Macquarie Street built in the 1920s and 30s and they’ve all been converted into apartments. The proximity to the Brisbane River makes it a great place to live.

    • It’s such a beautiful place – I’ve been to Brisbane and there are some lovely areas around the River but I didn’t know about Teneriffe – a well kept secret I’m sure!
