Crimson Rosellas hiding

This pool of grass had spun a floss of seed heads and crimson rosellas were pottering through enjoying the feast.

Can you spot them?

My efforts to actually take a photo of a recognisable bird are sad (although in my defence I was also wrangling a dog on a lead at the time), so please visit Geoff in Newstead who is a proper photographer of feathered folk and his images today of crimson rosellas in the rain are perfectly revealed on his Natural Newstead blog

    • Hi Hilary – I might have to put little arrows on them but even then you might not believe me. Geoff’s blog is so wonderful for discovering more about Australian birds.
