Kimono

These Roar Drawing sketches were done in early December 2012 – a warm night for the model to be wrapped in a heavy kimono. But the shot of fabric was a superb block of colour and I had a stick of pastel which was an exact match. You can see how the first head study I worked on resulted in a profile which I’m more familiar with. After taking more time to observe, I got a better likeness of the model. Very classical but tricky for me. Had a lovely time on the night but was worn out as always after a couple of hours.
